Adriana Varejao (b. 1964, Brazil) is a Rio de Janeiro-based artist whose diverse practice includes painting, sculpture, photography, and installation. Throughout her media, Varejao employs decorative motifs drawn from ceramic tile murals to examine the colonial oppression of Brazil through the lens of art history, particularly the baroque period.
