Vik Muniz (b.1961, Brazil) is a São Paulo-born experimental media artist. He began his work in sculpture and soon focused on photography and process. Muniz works with everyday materials to re-create ornate compositions drawn from art history and photojournalism. He then photographs the completed work as a means of preserving his ephemeral sculptures.
