Math Bass (b. 1981, New York) is a Los Angeles-based artist who works across a range of disciplines including painting, installation, performance, drawing, and sculpture. Bass is known for crisp, highly stylized compositions that convey myriad interpretations of familiar symbols as a response to culture's demand for immediate intelligibility. Bass received their BA from Hampshire College (Massachusetts) and MFA from the University of California Los Angeles.
