Chain-Link Fence
399553
The paradox of being both real and unreal, fixed and in flux, disrupts the viewer's normal process of perception. Chain-Link Fence is based on a photograph of a section of actual fence, meticulously re-created then distorted through 3-D rendering and digitally reconstructed.

Robert Lazzarini (b. 1965, United States) is a New York-based sculptor who investigates themes of violence, death, and impermanence in relation to art history. With an algorithmic process, Lazzarini distorts familiar objects to create the illusion of the physical world slipping away; often his sculptures materially mimic the objects they represent.
